Beginning Classes

Herd Tactical can provide beginner instruction on gun safety and operation for groups of six or more. For individual training opportunities, please contact one of our training partners listed to the left.

Private Advanced Instruction

Are you interested in becoming an expert marksman? Or just improving your skills? Our private lessons are a perfect way to advance toward your goals. Space is limited. Contact us for details and availability.

West Virginia Concealed Carry Permit Course

Herd Tactical offers the NRA Basic Pistol Course, which satisfies the training requirement set forth by the State of WV. The day-long course is offered monthly. Class size is limited to 12 students. Introduction to the AR-15

Herd Tactical offers a 4-hour clinic on the basics of shooting, operating, and maintaining the AR-15 family of rifles. This class focuses on fundamentals and will teach the student:

• How to properly zero their rifle.
• Safely manipulate the rifle
• Shooting positions
• Understand mechanical offset
• How to clean and maintain the rifle

Equipment and Ammunition Requirements

• 250 rounds of .223 or 5.56mm ammo
• Rifle sling
• Pouch or some way to carry an extra AR-15 magazine
• Eye and ear protection (electronic ear protection preferred)
• Valid concealed carry permit required
